Jennifer Love Walter
Her story is in her name..,.
First, it is French, meaning love. So, yes, our translated name is Love’s Love. It is pronounced by basically saying the two English letters M and A, or e-MAY.
Secondly, Aime is the middle name of a farm-boy from Quebec, Canada, Georges Aime Marchessault. After learning the skill of cake decorating, which he acquired as a young man while working as a kitchen assistant at a hotel, Georges moves to the city of St. Hyacinthe, Quebec. Quickly he finds work at La Patisserie Veins. During that time he meets Denise, falls in love, and marries. Four children later they open their own specialty shop, La Patisserie St. Hyacinthe. For years they were known for their delicious gourmet pastries and special occasion cakes.
This talented, creative, dapper monsieur is the grandfather of Morgan Elizabeth Dalton, co-owner of Aime’s Love. Morgan, herself, has always had a passion deep within to create deliciously beautiful masterpieces. In pursuit of her dream to become a pastry chef and cake decorator, Morgan studied, experimented, and created, and continues to do so at Aime’s Love.
First, is there anything more wonderful than Love? In a world with so much judgment, hate, and complaining, we want to share love, grace, hope, and sweetness.
Secondly, Love is the middle name of the other co-owner of Aime’s Love, Jennifer Walter. This name has roots in the bakery world too. In 1851, Love’s Bakery was opened in Honolulu, HI, by Robert Love Sr, the great-great-great grandfather of Jennifer. Still today, as it was then, Love’s Bakery is the largest bread supplier to the Hawaiian Islands.
The entrepreneurial success of Love’s Bakery truly deserves to go to one woman, Fanny Johnson Love. After Robert Sr. passed away, Robert Jr. and his wife, Fanny, took over the business. At the age of 48, Fanny was widowed with 6 children (ranging in age from 17 years to 6 months) and a heavily mortgaged bakery. For 32 years, Fanny ran Love’s Bakery enduring fire, plague, annexation, and the Republic, with grace, dignity, and statesmanship. As an entrepreneur and single mother herself, Jennifer tries to follow in Fanny’s footsteps.
The idea to be a 100% Gluten Free Bakery was a tweak to Morgan’s original dream. Presented by Jennifer as a need, as well as a desire and vision, Morgan rose to the challenge and taught herself how to create her menu, gluten free. Not an easy task.
So with Georges and Denise Marchessault and Robert and Fanny Love guiding and inspiring them, and Jesus in their hearts, Morgan and Jennifer are here to celebrate, laugh, collaborate, and grow with you… all the while enjoying the gluten free culinary delights of Aime’s Love.
